A Glimpse Into the Director’s Life

Dale sits in his classic suit, reflecting thoughtfully. His office exudes warmth, adorned with souvenirs on shelves and his desk. A signed hockey stick and a few baseballs occupy a corner.
Though Dale’s serious demeanor might suggest nervousness, he’s anything but. His methodical nature drives his analytical approach to every process in his business.
In an interview, Dale revealed that many see him as a risk-taker — a perception he wholeheartedly embraces. It’s this willingness to take risks that propelled him to build a successful business recognized nationwide.
When Dale began his entrepreneurial journey, he had no prior experience in the food and beverage industry. However, through hard work and confidence, Wishewan established a thriving smoothie bar franchise.
Dale firmly believes that if one can succeed in school and a career, there’s a good chance of excelling in business, provided there’s a genuine desire.
Early Life and Education

Hailing from Waskatenau, a self-proclaimed baseball capital of Alberta with a population of 260, Dale excelled academically in a class of just 12 students. Unlike most kids who joined hockey teams, Dale chose baseball, a sport he passionately pursued with the help of supportive coaches.
At 17, Dale enrolled at the University of Alberta, where he joined the local basketball team. After a year of studies, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Upon graduation in 1992, he returned to Alberta and worked in technical sales at Edmonton Exchanger, a local manufacturing and mechanical shop.
It was there that Dale met the director of Edmonton Exchanger, who became a mentor and ally in his entrepreneurial journey. Dale’s first major investment was a gold mining company in Calgary, where he purchased shares for just $130.
The Start of a Thriving Business
By 1992, juice bars were gaining popularity, with Edmonton boasting 125 outlets by early 1999. Seeing a growing demand, Dale seized the opportunity with $350,000 in capital. He opened the first Booster Juice in Sherwood Park, offering a diverse menu of delicious smoothies.
The rapid success of his initial store prompted Dale to open a second location just five months later. By 2000, a third store had launched. By the end of the first year, Dale had established 15 Booster Juice locations, and by the second year, the number had grown to 50.
The business soon expanded eastward, and Dale set his sights on markets in the UAE, Shanghai, and Beijing. With over 300 stores worldwide, 325 of them in Canada, Booster Juice became a testament to Dale’s vision and commitment.
Looking Ahead
Dale Wishewan aims to expand Booster Juice globally, bringing fresh, healthy beverages to a broader audience. For Dale, business is more than a necessity — it’s a passion.
